Sports dentistry relates to the prevention and treatment of athletic-related orofacial injuries and associated oral diseases. The first step in the prevention of sports-related dental injuries is the preseason oral screening to identify dental disease or abnormality. The most important aspect of prevention of injury in sports is the prescription, fitting, and fabrication of appropriate protective devices.  This course presents a thorough discussion of all aspects of sports dentistry.
